BRINGING TOGETHER BRILLIANT PEOPLE TO CONNECT FOR A NIGHT OF DEAL MAKING

NowStreet and LastClick, both known for facilitating business connections and dealmaking via ground-breaking event platforms, are bringing our networks together to help the victims of hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Sandy caused widespread destruction across the east coast leaving 40,000 homeless and millions without electricity, gas and heat for weeks. As the damage mounts and death toll rises, many hurricane victims have expressed their frustrations with the slow response and lack of assistance. Salvation Army officials say donations have fallen short of needs on the ground and the public may not grasp the extent of damage.

More than a new mechanism for financing small businesses, Crowdfunding is changing the way we respond to natural disasters. Crowdfunding allows people to take action and directly help individuals in need, filling the relief gap and rushing critical aid to those most in need.
 


Monies will be donated to the GATE Global Impact Foundation and HelpersUnite, two charitable organizations employing crowdfunding methodologies to raise money for Sandy victims.
 


This event is $25 and includes networking, donation to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, and a fun auction of prizes.

When you register for this event you also create an account for the live silent auction to be played on your smartphone. There's a twist. You start with bids. Every click uses a bid and increases the price of the prize by 1 cent. If you want more bids you can buy 30 more for $25. It continues to support the cause.

We have also arranged for trucks to deliver supplies to some of the most damaged locations including: Far Rockaway, Staten Island, Long Beach and Breezy Point. We ask that you help us fill the trucks by bringing any of the following items to the event: •Work Gloves • Heavy Duty Garbage Bags • Flashlights, C and D Batteries • Sweatshirts and Jackets • Underwear • Diapers and Wipes • Blankets • Hats • Towels • Tampons • HOT food • Over-the-counter cold medicines, Tylenol & Advil (both children's and adults)
